One of Lisa, Charlie and myself’s new Summer Passions is mushrooming, and we have grown quite fond of Chanterelles in particular. These orange beauties are quite easy to differentiate from other shrooms… are absolutely delicious and as organic as you can get. All our area parks and trails often get peppered with them after a warm summer rain. Gathering something that delicious that retails for over $40/lb, actually increases the motivation to your forest hike, doubling, tripling the time spent in woods. If you’re intrigued to try it……… Let’s do some mushroom picking!!
